Girl (16) awarded €40,000 in damages for Tesco injury


A 16­ year old girl who suffered back and knee injuries following a slip and fall in a Tesco store has been awarded almost €40,000 in damages in the Circuit Civil Court.

The girl who was 14 at the time slipped on the floor and injured her back, knee and hit her head as she fell. She was taken by ambulance to Temple Street hospital where it was ascertained that she had suffered soft tissue injuries to her lower back.

Tesco made an offer of €39,533 which the Judge approved.
